Nathan McKean – CEO – Mr. McKean is the fourth generation of the family to lead Breckenridge Material Company. Nathan literally grew up in the business and has held almost every functional responsibility at one point or another throughout his career. Since 2004, he has made several regional acquisitions growing the company’s footprint and increasing its production capacity by more than 100% driving Breckenridge to #67 of the Top 100 Concrete Producers in the US. Nathan has served as President of the Concrete Council of St. Louis as well as Chairman of the Missouri Concrete Association and is currently on the board of the National Ready Mix Concrete Association.
Andy Arnold – President and Chief Operating Officer – Mr. Arnold has more than 22 years of experience in ready mix concrete and aggregates working in every aspect from sales, marketing, operations, production, and growth and development. Prior to Breckenridge, he worked for Lafarge SA, one of the world’s largest building materials suppliers. Based in Paris, France, he was VP of Ready Mix Concrete Performance and responsible for ensuring Lafarge’s operating model was in place throughout all worldwide operations. Prior to this role, Mr. Arnold was the VP/GM for Lafarge’s operations in Kansas and Missouri. Mr. Arnold received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Virginia Tech in 1989.
Ed Ploeger – Vice President – Finance – Mr. Ploeger has more than 22 years of experience in the Ready Mix industry with a background in accounting, finance, and financial reporting. Prior to Breckenridge, he worked for 11 years at Standard Ready Mix Concrete Co. as a Controller in Sioux City, Iowa. At both Standard Ready Mix and Breckenridge Material, Mr. Ploeger was responsible for converting the accounting function along with the financial reporting from manual to a fully automated system. Mr. Ploeger received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1990 from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
Barb Palmer – Director of Human Resources – Ms. Palmer leads all human resources operations with a focus on HR strategy, talent acquisition and facilitating a positive, growth culture. Before joining BMC, she held a number of HR leadership roles across various industries, including a national Fortune 1000 sales organization. The majority of her career has been spent in the HR function of small to medium sized, privately-held companies. Ms. Palmer graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration degree. She also earned a Professional in Human Resources certificate from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is a member of various human resource organizations.
